Meg Wallace Art
Welcome to Meg Wallace Art.
I have lived in the small and vibrant town of Linlithgow, Scotland for 30 years and have recently discovered a newfound passion for pastel drawing and watercolours. I didn’t need to look far for inspiration, with Linlithgow’s historic buildings, Palace, Loch and canal basin.
However I wanted my drawings to reflect not just the scenery but the warm and active community in the town. I have created a collection of townscapes including community activities. My calendars and artwork have been sent all over the world, often to people who moved abroad from Linlithgow but find my illustrations a nostalgic reminder of 'home'.
Please browse my site to see what I do.
I'll be painting other subjects but at the moment there are so many more scenes and beautiful corners of the town to paint and draw, I'm spoilt for choice
Signed Giclée prints will be available to buy, unmounted and delivered in postal tube. Also available are calendars, jigsaws, coasters, mugs, colouring books and cards. Giclée Print, signed on reverse, image size 9.5" x 6.5", to fit any mount with A4 aperture. UNMOUNTED, delivered in postal tube, available at my Etsy shop https://MegWallaceArtStudio.etsy.com
I wanted to paint a watercolour in the style of a stained glass window, with the legendary 'Black Bitch of Linlithgow' in the centre, and incorporating the bird and fish life around Linlithgow Loch. I was inspired by the window in St Michael's Parish Church, which depicts wildlife and marine life discovered by Linlithgow oceanographer on his travels around the world. This is my own tribute to our beautiful loch, palace, legend and wildlife.
